The Best Kept Secret in Savannah, Georgia

About HSLC

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church has been a beacon of faith and service in Savannah since 1983. From our beginnings under Pastor James M. Capers, through the leadership of Pastors Jack Ray, Harold Campbell, W. James Nelson, and interim leaders Pastor James and Dr. Emily Sanders, our congregation has welcomed neighbors, supported youth, and worked to share God’s love in the community.

Today, we are blessed to be led by Pastor Rahim Brown, who joined us in May 2025. Pastor Brown, a graduate of Saint Paul School of Theology, has devoted his life to helping others—as a firefighter, nursing assistant, youth mentor, chaplain, and ministry leader. He brings rich experience in congregational leadership, youth and family ministry, and community outreach through the ELCA and African Descent Lutheran Association. His passion for connecting people to Christ and one another inspires our mission.

For more than 40 years, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church has turned challenges into opportunities, building bridges of faith, hope, and love—from people to people, and from people to God.
