Pastor Rahim Brown
Lead Pastor
Pastor Rahim Malik Brown earned his Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology in Leawood, Kansas. He completed an academic year at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. Throughout his life, Pastor Brown has been dedicated to serving others and his community. He served as a Fire Specialist with New Bern Fire and Rescue in New Bern, North Carolina, and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. He also worked with at-risk youth at Shelterwood Academy in Independence, Missouri, before entering full-time ministry. In 2014, he was called to serve as Associate Pastor at Blue Ridge Boulevard Christian Church in Independence, MO. In 2021, Pastor Brown joined Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, as Youth and Family Minister. After entering the Candidacy Process in 2022, he completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at UNC Nash in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. That same year, he was invited to serve as Chaplain for the NC Synod Assembly. In 2023, Pastor Brown began his internship at The Lutheran Church of the Atonement in Atlanta, Georgia. During his time in Atlanta, he was actively involved in Camp in the City and collaborated with the African Descent Lutheran Association (ADLA). In 2024, he returned to the NC Synod, where he contributed to the Region 9 BIE Planning Team. Pastor Brown served on the NC Synod Compensation Committee and the 2025 NC Synod Assembly Worship Committee. Before being called Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Savannah, GA.

April Sims- Scott
Church Council President
April Scott, a Charter Member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, is honored to serve as Church Council President. Growing up in this congregation, she believes Holy Spirit is called to be a living witness of Jesus Christ—a place where grace is received, faith is nurtured, and service flows from love of the Lord.
As part of the leadership team, April works to strengthen every ministry by fostering collaboration, encouraging stewardship, supporting worship and outreach, and nurturing new leaders. She strives to keep the church’s mission aligned with God’s call while adapting to new opportunities.
A devoted follower of Christ, April values hospitality, generosity, and integrity, seeking to cultivate a church culture where every gift is valued and every act of service reflects Jesus’ love. She is the mother of three adult children and grandmother to four. A Social Worker and active servant leader in Savannah, she is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a member of Top Ladies of Distinction and the Junior League of Savannah. Her favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, reminds her that God’s plans for Holy Spirit are filled with hope and purpose.

Estelline Beamon
Church Treasurer
A devoted member since Holy Spirit Lutheran Church first opened its doors, Estelline Beamon has faithfully served as our Treasurer for many years. Her dedication to good stewardship and her heart for helping others shine through her work in the church and the wider community. A committed social advocate, Estelline brings both integrity and compassion to everything she does.

Whitney Scott
Interim Church Administrator
Whitney Scott is a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church and is honored to serve as our Church Administrator. She also represents young adults across the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA as the current Young Adult Synod Representative and leads Holy Spirit’s Young Adult Ministries as committee chairperson.
An avid follower of Jesus Christ, Whitney values faith, integrity, and service. She is passionate about helping other young adults deepen their relationship with Christ and discover their gifts for ministry. Outside of church, Whitney is a successful Realtor in Savannah and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She brings energy, compassion, and a spirit of excellence to all she does, reflecting her commitment to sharing God’s love in every part of life.
In addition to serving at Holy Spirit and her professional work, Whitney serves the community as Chief Financial Officer of 1201 Gives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering local families in the Live Oak neighborhood. Through this role, she helps guide strategic growth and stewardship, ensuring resources are used to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.

Deacon Detric Leggett
Property Manager
A proud son of one of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church’s charter families, Detric Leggett Sr. faithfully serves as Deacon and Property Manager. Beyond the church, he is an Alderman for Savannah’s District 2, chairs the Chatham Area Transit Board, and serves on numerous community boards. A passionate advocate and youth football coach at Oglethorpe Charter School, Detric is dedicated to making a positive impact in Savannah.

Deacon Cedric Beamon
Mission & Outreach Lead
Serving Holy Spirit Lutheran Church since the late 1980s, Deacon Cedric Beamon leads our Mission and Outreach ministry with steadfast dedication. A retired military veteran, he brings discipline, compassion, and a big heart for others to his work in both the church and the community.
